Artist Bio

Darby Lewis is a ceramic artist born and raised in Nashville Tennessee. As an artsy child, she first discovered wheel thrown pottery in fifth grade and ever since she was fascinated by ceramics. Later during high school she officially began her journey with clay by taking classes at a community studio and decided she wanted to make it her life career. She chose to get her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Ceramics at the Appalachian Center for Craft, Tennessee Tech University’s art campus and graduated December 2020. Since graduating she has continued expanding on her thesis body of work through creating new sculptures and as of 2023 she began teaching at Cumberland University as the Adjunct Instructor of Ceramics aiming to introduce new artists to the joys of working with clay.
